On 2 May 2o15. A Chinese police officer shot and killed a man at train station in the northern province of Heilongjiang after fighting.

The video from security cameras showed that a 45-years-old man (Mr. Xu) was trying to block station access, some said he appeared drunk. A police officer (Mr. Li) went to him and tried to take him out of the station access without using weapon and violence but he refused and tried to hurt him.

The police man ran away from him but Mr. Xu didn't stop and tried to chase after him, so the fighting started. Mr Xu tried to seize a police baton from Mr Li but at first he couldn't, so he
was so angry, he pushed his elderly mother and slammed his young daughter aims to Mr. Li but failed, so she fell down to ground. At last, Mr. Xu seized the baton from Mr. Li and used it to hit him, when a short handgun appear into a corner of screen. Mr Xu fell down to the chair, and then fell to ground.

A nationwide debate has started, lots of people are questioning that the police officer acted properly or not because the video shown by official state broadcaster China Central Television is not complete one, it was edited footage. China's Xinhau New Agency said an investigation by Harbin Railway Police found that the police officer acted properly but not everyone is satisfied. Due to they think the video was edited to show the worst side of Mr Xu behavior but ignore the bad action by police. Now, Human rights in China is the big issue that are concerning by lots of people in the world.

In your opinion, what do you think about this case? who is right and wrong? Does police officer act properly or Mr Xu was the victim of harassment? why didn't people around there go to stop the fighting, especially people who appear with police officer uniform?

  1. In my point of view, the police's action like this is wrong because he should find better ways to solve this problem. For instance, try to talk to Mr. Xu smoothly first to know why he blocked the station entry before taking him out. What do you think?
